About this Position
GENERAL SUMMARY :
Primary duty is to enforce the laws of the state of Oklahoma and the rules and regulations of the campus of OSU Institute of Technology.
Required Qualifications
- High School / GED, Associate degree highly preferred.
- Evidences a history of demonstrating ethical and professional behavior.
- Five years’ documented experience as a peace officer in a university setting preferred.
Certifications, Registrations, and / or Licenses :
Advanced law enforcement certification by Council on Law Enforcement and Training (CLEET); or must be obtained following hire.Valid Oklahoma driver’s license.NIMS (Homeland Security).CPR and Emergency Management training.Must meet annual training / qualification standards for firearms as well as CLEET continuing education hours.Skills, Proficiencies, and / or Knowledge :
Skills and Abilities :
Must be at least 21 years of age.Must have good reputable character with no criminal record.Must have good driving record.Must be able to pass the OLERS physical examination.Must have full sensory perception, mental ability, physical capability and psychomotor skills.Current computer skills to include MS applications and database systems.Communication Skills :
Good oral and written communication skills.Good organizational ability.Ability to communicate effectively (and publicly) with a positive attitude.Excellent listening skills and customer responsiveness are essential.Preferred Qualifications
Associate's degree highly preferred.CLEET certification.
