L&D RN LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum)

Location : Eureka, CA

Unit Overview

Average Daily Census : 15–20 patients

Shift Details :

12-hour shifts (06 : 00–18 : 30 / 18 : 00–06 : 30)

Block scheduling

Call : Yes – as needed

Systems : EPIC + OBIX documentation, Pyxis med system, SBAR communication

Required

Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate (minimum), Fetal Heart Monitoring

Experience :

At least 1 year of recent L&D RN experience

Experience with high-risk OB patients

Competency in circulating for C-sections, recovery, triage, fetal monitoring, magnesium sulfate, Pitocin, and postpartum care

Ratios 1 : 1 to 1 : 3 depending on acuity

Skills :

Labor management (EFM, SVE, NSTs, triage, induction, augmentation, preterm labor, VBAC)

OB emergencies : hemorrhage, eclampsia, pre-eclampsia, malpresentation, multiples, uterine rupture

Circulate / scrub for C-sections, recovery, and immediate neonatal care (APGAR, resuscitation, thermoregulation)

Postpartum and newborn couplet care
