Hours per Shift : 8 : 00 AM - 4 : 00 PM

Experience : Minimum years of experience required

License : Licensed Registered Nurse

Certifications : Completion of a master's degree in psychology or other mental health related field, or completion of a master's degree in nursing with a Mental Health or Psychiatric Nursing concentration

Must-Have :

  • Knowledge of departmental regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Ability to counsel on sensitive matters and recognize unusual or threatening conditions

Description :

The Behavioral Healthcare Provider develops, coordinates, implements, and provides interdisciplinary services related to health and illness.

This role involves the application of behavioral and biomedical science knowledge and techniques.

The Behavioral Healthcare Provider focuses on prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation.

The provider performs psychosocial interventions with clients within their scope of practice.

Individual, family, or group intervention may involve counseling, testing, and education of clients.

Intervention goals and objectives are developed to provide education and resolve clients' problems.

The provider participates in establishing, implementing, and evaluating treatment system goals and objectives.

Interviews with clients and their families help to establish case goals and objectives.

Clients are assessed to determine specific intervention techniques and to monitor responses to treatment.

The provider evaluates the effectiveness of prescribed treatment and monitors client progress.

Necessary data documents are maintained to satisfy federal, state, and local agency requirements.

This includes preparing social histories, admission / aftercare summaries, and court documents.

The provider serves on treatment teams and program development teams.

Attendance at training meetings and intradepartmental meetings is required.

The role involves establishing and maintaining working relationships with other facilities and agencies.

This coordination is essential for referrals and follow-up services.

The provider must be knowledgeable about crisis intervention and employee instruction.

Understanding an abstract field of study and problem-solving in complex situations is essential.

Training and development will be required to remain in the classification after employment.

This may include continuing professional education for license renewal as mandated.

Unusual working conditions may include exposure to potentially violent clients or contagious diseases.

Travel to community sites under contract with mental health departments may be required.
