Are you looking for a career that makes a difference in your local community? Join us at the Arc of Greater New Orleans in Westwego, LA! We are searching for a Program Coordinator to oversee our community center located at 333 Sala Avenue, Westwego, LA.

Pay : $15-$17 / hour

Job Purpose

The Program Coordinator guides Direct Support Professionals for the Community Integration team. They ensure participants actively engage in activities in our community centers and the local community. The Program Coordinator ensures alignment between our program and the individual participant’s comprehensive plan of care (CPOC).

Essential Job Functions

  • Ensures compliance with relevant standards and policies (regional, state, federal, CARF) for licensing and certification as they relate to the Cl department
  • Oversees the day-to-day functions of their specified center
  • Communicates with individuals, families, guardians, case management, and funding agencies to advocate on behalf of the participant
  • Plans and oversees the implementation of center and community-based activities
  • Produces and maintains current records as it pertains to participants, activities, etc.; assuring compliance with all applicable standards
  • Directly supervises all direct support personnel at their specified center.
  • Ensures facility maintenance is prioritized and promptly reports needed repairs to the Facilities Manager
  • Must ensure that the ratio of their center is properly maintained when expected to attend scheduled meetings
  • Ensures timely submission of requested reports (block reports, safety reports, monthlies, weeklies, etc.)
  • Assures meaningful, functional, and age-appropriate activities are offered for all designated participants.
  • Monitors programming personnel and makes recommendations to improve services being provided
  • Actively participate in planning meetings for participants (quarterly / annual meetings) by providing information about participant engagement, likes, dislikes, goals, etc. at meetings
  • Assumes primary responsibility for addressing all participants, family, and direct support staff grievances

Education / Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services or related discipline or three (3) years of equivalent work experience in a related field preferred
  • Excellent written, verbal, communication, and organizational skills, and demonstrates professionalism in all relationships
  • Possesses the ability and willingness to maintain a flexible work schedule (evenings and weekends as consumer / staff needs indicate.)
  • Possesses basic computer skills and a willingness to learn
  • Protects confidentiality of program participants, parents / advocates, staff, and departmental business affairs
  • Maintains valid Driver’s License, current auto insurance, and a vehicle in good standing, according to the ArcGNO Vehicle Inspection.
  • Working Conditions & Physical Demands

  • This role is subject to a moderate level of physical activity including, but not limited to, sitting, standing, walking, reaching, or carrying items as needed
  • Occasionally lifting 50 pounds
  • Frequently lifting and / or carrying objects up to 20 pounds
