Description :

The position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Telemetry.

The unit focuses on monitoring patients with conditions such as stroke, CHF, ACS, and CAD.

Common patients include those recovering from heart catheterization and those with arrhythmias.

A nurse's patient ratio is 4-5 during the day and 5-6 at night.

Experience in titrating drips for Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dopamine, and Heparin is desirable.

Telemetry monitoring is performed by a dedicated technician, but nurses must sign off on strips.

Charge nurses carry a patient assignment in addition to their responsibilities.

There are Certified Nurse Aides present on the unit, with ratios dependent on patient acuity.

The unit is equipped with BiPAP and High Flow oxygen equipment.

Shifts are 12 hours, scheduled based on the needs of the unit, with weekend and holiday rotations required.

Floating to other units such as ICU, Medical Surgical, or Emergency Room may be necessary.

Scrub color is flexible.

Experience with Meditech charting system is a plus.
