Purpose of Position
The Trade Compliance Engineer will act as the primary liaison between Global Trade Compliance and Engineering, providing technology and engineering expertise in regulatory interpretation, and supporting the assurance of compliance with international trade regulations. The individual will support the jurisdiction assignment and classification in coordination with engineering staff and Global Trade Compliance team members with a high attention to detail.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Minimum Education
Bachelor's degree in one of the following Engineering areas of expertise : Electro-Mechanical, Systems, Software, or related field
Minimum Experience
10+ years' substantive engineering experience w / 4+ years' relevant classification background
Knowledge of Engineering change process and related systems (Keytech, JIRA, Confluence, PDM, Python, and other engineering tools as applicable)
Strong understanding of the U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR), the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and relevant classifications (HTS / Schedule B, ECCN, USML) pertaining to aerospace parts, electronics, computers, IT equipment, encryption technology, and navigational hardware, etc.
In-depth knowledge of aerospace systems and industry regulations
Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information
Experience in managing development infrastructure and training technical teams
Knowledge of exportability considerations and experience incorporating export control compliance into product development plans
Understanding of basic trade compliance tools such as the Order of Review, USML, and CCL
