Description Location : Lake in the Hills, IL
Schedule : Monday–Friday 8 : 00 am – 5 : 00 pm
Compensation : $80,000-$100,000 / annually
Are you passionate about quality engineering and leading cross-functional teams? We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer Supervisor to join our team and play a critical role in integrating quality standards into both new product development and ongoing manufacturing operations. As the key liaison between the Quality department, Engineering, and R&D, you'll lead the implementation of robust process controls, oversee quality team members, and drive continuous improvement efforts to ensure top-tier product performance and customer satisfaction.
What You'll Do
- Act as the primary Quality liaison with Engineering and R&D for new product introductions
- Define and implement effective process controls, including FMEA, Control Plans, and PPAP
- Supervise and mentor a team of quality inspectors and auditors
- Evaluate current manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with quality standards
- Oversee non-conformance investigations (RMA / NCMR), including CAPA initiatives
- Lead root cause analysis and preventive actions using tools like 8D or A3
- Conduct lab testing and validate product performance through metrology and analysis
- Analyze data to identify trends, drive improvement, and support decision-making
- Ensure adherence to internal quality systems and external regulations (ISO 9001, FDA)
- Champion AFC's Core Values across all functions and activities
What You'll Bring
Bachelor's degree in Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field5–10 years of experience as a Quality Engineer in a manufacturing environmentAt least 2 years of direct supervisory experienceProficient in new product launch tools : FMEA, Control Plans, PPAPStrong data analysis, reporting, and technical writing skillsSkilled in root cause analysis and continuous improvement methods (8D, A3)Familiarity with Cost of Quality metrics and metrology toolsExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsPreferred Qualifications
Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher)Internal audit training or credentialsExperience with plastic coatings (PTFE) or chemistry-based manufacturingFamiliarity with lab testing, ISO 9001, FDA regulationsBackground in lean manufacturing and supplier quality managementExperience with document control systemsWhy Join AFC?
