We are currently looking for an Adjunct IT / Cybersecurity Instructor. Adjunct faculty members are student-centered, teaching mentors who assist students to progress through their academic programs to completion. Essentially, the adjunct faculty member's responsibilities involve instruction and assessment of student learning.
Responsibilities
- Within face-to-face, online, hybrid, and / or HyFlex learning environments, facilitate student learning, deliver career-relevant instruction, provide an environment conducive to learning, evaluate student learning for all assigned classes, respond to student inquiries, and grade all assignments in a timely manner.
- Engage students using instructional techniques such as collaborative learning, experiential learning, and / or problem-based learning.
- Deliver course curriculum utilizing the University's learning management system.
- Participate in course and program-level learning assessments; help define student learning outcomes, select and administer measures, evaluate performance, and suggest improvements.
- Work with the Dean, Department Chair, and / or Program Director in developing and revising course maps and materials.
- Schedule, supervise, debrief, and evaluate students in clinical, externship, observation, field experience, and similar settings as appropriate.
- Participate in student retention efforts, document retention activities, and connect students with University services.
- Communicate availability (e.g., office hours) to students via appropriate channels.
- Adjunct faculty are encouraged to attend graduation.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Master's degreeMinimum of 3 years' experience in Cybersecurity or ITAn equivalent combination of education and work experience may be consideredCertifications such as CompTIA A+, Net+, Sec+, Cloud+, Linux+, CySA+, PenTest+, CASP, ISC2 certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCSP, CC, SSCP, CGRC) or equivalent, currentExcellent writing and oral communication skillsStrong leadership, customer service, communication, organizational and interpersonal skillsAbility to coordinate multiple projects and meet deadlinesAbility to function in a stressful work environmentAbility to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and travel to multiple locations as neededPhysical ability to sit / stand for long periods and to move about campusAbility to communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff face-to-face, by phone, and electronicallyThe Sullivan University System is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
