The position serves as the Chief of the Collections Management Division (CMD), Preservation Directorate (PRES), Discovery and Preservation Services (DPS) Directorate within the Library Collections and Services Group (LCSG) at the Library of Congress (LC).
The Chief, CMD works under the general direction and supervision of the Director for Preservation who also oversees the Conservation Division, the Preservation Services Division and the Preservation Research and Testing Division.
The Chief, CMD is the Library of Congress’s officer responsible for overseeing the physical storage of library materials, including stack maintenance, security, access inventory management, and long-term care of the more than twenty million volumes in the general collections and for other collections as assigned.
