Overview
Senior Financial Consultant – Native American Consulting
Location : Portland, OR or Albuquerque, NM. Compensation : $105,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience and location. This role is with Ulrich Investment Consultants, a SEC-registered investment advisor, providing fiduciary investment and non-investment financial consulting to Native American clients.
Travel : Up to 3 tribal visits per month, each lasting 2-5 days (including travel days).

Responsibilities
- Deliver fiscal management support services to Native American Tribal clients and help develop and maintain fiscal management systems.
- Provide accounting assistance, including training and coaching of tribal finance staff.
- Assist clients in preparing financial statements for Single Government audits and develop audit support packages.
- Support development of client financial planning materials and financial plan updates.
- Assist in preparing and negotiating client indirect cost rates and contract support claims.
- Maintain client work product files and documentation per company processes.
- Consult on other Native American consulting services highlighted on the company website.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree or higher in finance, accounting, or economics (preferred).Certified Public Accountant or other professional accounting designation (preferred, not required).5+ years of experience with single audits and ability to produce financial statements from a trial balance; experience as an auditor or in a government / tribe finance department is acceptable.Additional Qualifications
Experience working with tribal governments preferred.Strong understanding of governmental accounting and governmental / tribal financial statements.Analytical and problem-solving abilities to analyze data, identify trends, and draw conclusions.High learning agility with accounting knowledge, business acumen, communication, and presentation skills.Excellent consulting skills and ability to build client relationships.Experience with accounting software and understanding of accounting principles, cycles, and financial statements.Proactive work ethic and ability to work well in a team.Note to Applicants
