POSITION SUMMARY : Under general supervision from the IT Manager, the Network Administrator (NA) serves as lead in charge of system-wide area network support for NVIH. They are responsible for the installation and support of LANs, WANs, network segments, Internet, and intranet systems. The NA will install and maintain network hardware and software, analyze and isolate issues, evaluate and modify system's performance. They will ensure network connectivity throughout the company's LAN / WAN infrastructure is on par with technical considerations and assign routing protocols and routing table configuration.
Responsibilities
- Ensure integrity and stability of in-house voice, data and wireless network services.
- Plan, design, and develop LAN and WAN networks across the organization.
- Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes and service records.
- Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans from network administration, usage, and disaster recovery.
- Conduct testing and development of disaster recovery plans to detect faults, minimize malfunctions and backup systems as it relates to network functionality.
- Establish systems to actively monitor network health.
- Collaborate with technical services team members to assess near- and long-term network capacity meets existing and future requirements.
- Cooperate with SSE to manage critical network services, such as DNS and DHCP.
- Back up IT Manager in maintaining phone system software.
- Responsible for assigned IT tickets.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field or four (4) years experience in Computer Science field. Additionally, at least 4 years experience in computer related field.Proven experience in successfully maintaining mission critical information systems. Excellent interpersonal skills including teamwork, negotiations, working with hardware / software vendors and end users.Must have an understanding of PC hardware and networking required.Critical thinking and solution-based problem-solving skills necessary to resolve issues within scope of responsibilities.Ability to exercise judgment and coordinate a number of projects to meet specified objectives.Ability to work and communicate effectively with a wide variety of people within healthcare settings, state and federal agencies and private organizations.Self-motivated and able to work independently.Position requires extensive travel between clinic sites and thus requires reliable transportation and ability to adhere to regular attendance.
