Primary Function Of Position : As the Immigration Attorney for Unaccompanied Minors, you will provide legal representation and outreach services to unaccompanied minor immigration clients.
Major Position Responsibilities :
- Client Eligibility : Screen and consult with potential clients to determine their eligibility for CCS legal services.
- Legal Representation : Prepare and file applications with the USCIS on behalf of clients and represent clients before the USCIS and the Immigration Court.
- Team Management : Work to increase the capacity of the immigration program by recruiting, training and supervising law students and pro bono attorneys to help with the case load.
- Supervise : Supervise legal support staff and legal fellows as needed.
- External Collaboration : Coordinate with other nonprofit legal service providers utilizing a standard hotline and referral service.
- Client Outcome Tracking : Track and report on client outcomes.
- Internal Collaboration : Collaborate with other CCS staff attorneys and paralegal staff on assigned projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
Work Environment :
This role is in a professional office environment, utilizing standard office equipment, including computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.Some local travel is anticipated as part of the role's responsibilities.Physical Demands :
While primarily a sedentary role, some filing tasks are involved. This entails lifting files, opening filing cabinets, and occasionally bending or standing as needed.Skills, Knowledge, And Abilities :

Law degree from an accredited university or equivalent experience.One year of practice as an attorney in a related field preferred.Fluency in both Spanish and English is preferred; willingness to learn Spanish is required.Background Screening Requirement :
Must be able to pass a national BCI / FBI background check.Licenses, Certifications, And Credentials :
Must be able to obtain a Law License within 12 months of the date of hire (Utah License preferred).A current Utah driver's license and provide proof of auto insurance meeting minimum policy liability limits of $50,000 per person and $100,000 per incident. Additionally, be 21 years of age or older, maintain a clean driving record, and have the capacity to fulfill CCS vehicle safety standards.Position Status And Expected Schedule :
This is a full-time position and exempt position.Office hours are scheduled from 8 : 30 am to 5 pm, with occasional flexibility for evenings and weekends.
