Job Description

Associate Attorney – Public Entity Defense

A well-established firm is seeking dedicated attorneys of all experience levels with public entity defense experience. The position is hybrid during training and then fully remote, with offices in Los Angeles and Orange County.

Responsibilities

  • Represent public entities in complex litigation cases.
  • Conduct legal research, draft documents, and prepare cases for trial.
  • Manage all litigation from inception through resolution, including discovery, motions, hearings, trials, and appeals.
  • Provide legal advice on regulatory compliance, risk management, and policy development.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff for effective case management.
  • Stay current on laws, regulations, and trends affecting public entities.
  • Participate in professional development activities.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the state bar in good standing.
  • At least 1 year of experience in civil litigation, municipal litigation, or public entity litigation.
  • Successful track record in complex litigation.
  • Excellent research, analysis, writing, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
  • Effective case and deadline management abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ethical standards.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
