Job Summary

We are seeking a Medical Biller for our private dermatology practice. You will work closely with clients to answer questions related to billing, processing all forms needed for insurance billing purposes, and collecting necessary documentation from clients. You will also assist other Medical Billers with follow-up inquiries to clients, communicate with physicians' offices and hospitals to obtain records, and accurately record patient information. The ideal candidate has excellent attention to detail, strong customer service skills, and is comfortable spending much of the day on the phone.

Responsibilities

  • Efficiently process insurance claims through both private / commercial insurance and Medicare.
  • Maintain up to date metrics and reports reflecting billing performance for the practice.
  • Timely identify issues and opportunities for improvement and lead efforts.
  • Work with doctors offices and hospitals to obtain charge information and billing details.
  • Oversee billing related activities performed by practice staff.
  • Follow up with clients and payments, as needed.
  • Lead activities for collecting A / R.
  • Answer phones, assist clients with questions, resolve billing issues.
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

    • Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Medical Billing specialist.
  • Deep familiarity with insurance claim processing rules.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology and ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding.
  • Familiarity with AdvancedMD practice management system is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage tasks through to completion.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong customer service skills.
  • Comfortable spending significant time on the phone assisting clients and collaborating with healthcare providers.
