Schedule : Monday to Friday, 9 : 00 AM 5 : 00 PM
TAG MedStaffing is hiring an Addiction Psychiatrist (Outpatient Program) in Staten Island, NY with our client. You will deliver comprehensive psychiatric care to patients with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders, collaborating with therapists and multidisciplinary teams to support recovery and wellness. This full-time outpatient role also offers opportunities for teaching and mentorship in a collaborative, patient-centered environment.
Responsibilities as the Addiction Psychiatrist (Outpatient Program) :
- Patient Care : Conduct comprehensive evaluations and ongoing medication management for patients with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.
- Treatment Management : Prescribe and monitor medications such as Suboxone and Vivitrol, ensuring effective and safe treatment outcomes.
- Collaborative Care : Work closely with therapists, counselors, and multidisciplinary teams to provide integrated, patient-centered care.
- Supervision & Training : Oversee residents and participate in teaching and didactic activities to support clinical education and development.
- Patient Load & Documentation : Manage a consistent outpatient caseload and maintain accurate records using Meditech EMR.
Qualifications for the Addiction Psychiatrist (Outpatient Program) :
Licensure & Certification : Board Certification in Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry or Addiction Medicine required; board-eligible candidates with relevant experience will be considered.Experience : 3+ years of clinical experience treating patients with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders in an outpatient setting.Technical Skills : Proficient in Meditech EMR and Microsoft Office Suite.Industry Knowledge : Strong understanding of outpatient withdrawal management and evidence-based addiction treatment protocols.Skills & Attributes : Compassionate, team-oriented professional with excellent communication skills and a commitment to teaching, mentorship, and patient advocacy.Application Notice : Qualified candidates will be contacted within 2 business days of application.
