Overview
Amerita is a Specialty Infusion company focused on providing complex pharmaceutical products and outstanding clinical service to patients outside of the hospital setting. The Nursing Operational Trainer is responsible for developing, delivering, and maintaining comprehensive training programs for Amerita nursing staff across all pharmacy sites. This role provides hands-on clinical and operational education to ensure nurses are fully trained on infusion therapy standards, patient care protocols, regulatory compliance, and Amerita's policies and procedures. The Nursing Operational Trainer plays a critical role in driving consistency, maintaining clinical excellence, and supporting patient safety across the organization.
This is a remote position with up to 80% travel.

Responsibilities
Delivers structured onboarding programs for newly hired nurses, including clinical competencies, infusion protocols, documentation standards, and Amerita-specific workflowsProvides hands-on training at pharmacy sites and Ambulatory Infusion Suites (AISs), including demonstrations, and skills validationDevelops training materials, competency checklists, and job aids to support consistent nursing education across sitesConducts refresher and re-education sessions on clinical procedures, patient teaching, and operational workflow updatesEnsures all nursing training programs align with state Nurse Practice Acts, Amerita policies, HIPAA, and URAC / ACHC accreditation standardsValidates nurse competencies through direct observation, skills assessments, and performance evaluationsPartners with Nursing Leadership and Quality / Compliance teams to address clinical gaps and implement corrective trainingMaintains thorough documentation of training sessions, attendance, and competency validation resultsServes as a subject matter expert (SME) on infusion therapy, nursing workflows, and patient teaching practicesProvides training on safe handling of specialty medications, infusion devices, line management, and emergency proceduresSupports pharmacy sites and AISs in achieving patient care quality, timeliness, and satisfaction metricsAssists site nursing leaders in identifying and addressing staff development needsContinuously enhances and updates nursing education programs to reflect new therapies, technologies, and best practicesIncorporates adult learning principles and simulation-based training to maximize nurse engagement and skill retentionTracks and reports training outcomes, including competency pass rates and clinical performance improvementsDevelops strategies to improve knowledge retention, safety practices, and standardization across sitesQualifications
Registered Nurse (RN) with an active, unrestricted license required; BSN preferred.3-5 years of experience in infusion therapy, home infusion, or specialty pharmacy clinical operations required.Prior experience in clinical education, training, or precepting strongly preferred.Strong knowledge of infusion therapy protocols, venous access device management, patient assessment, and documentation standards.Familiarity with regulatory and accreditation requirements (URAC, ACHC).Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic health record (EHR) systems; experience with LMS platforms preferred.Ability to travel up to 60-70% to pharmacy sites and AIS nationwide.Clinical Expertise in Infusion NursingTraining & Facilitation SkillsCompliance & Patient Safety MindsetStrong Communication & Interpersonal EffectivenessAdaptability in Diverse Clinical SettingsAnalytical Thinking & Problem SolvingAbout our Line of Business
