Overview The Producer for Noticias Telemundo is responsible for identifying newsworthy stories, conceptualizing and producing rundowns, participating in editorial meetings and planning, writing stories for the newscast, writing banners and requesting news graphics. The candidate must have a strong editorial background and the ability to lead a team. The role requires multitasking and the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. The producer works with the news team as well as other departments including production, art, and promotions. The Producer needs to work night shift and be flexible with schedule.
Responsibilities Responsible for selecting, assigning, writing, and organizing news stories in the rundown.
Produces live shows for linear and streaming, either in a control room or Tricaster settings.
Anticipates the needs of news coverage and coordinates video, graphics, scripts and other elements.
Newsgathering savvy. Must have social media knowledge across platforms.
Organize and line-produce breaking news and show updates.
Contribute to the editorial line of the day.
Work in collaboration with Assignment Editors, Reporters, news digital and production crews.
Strong writing skills : precise, objective and sharp.
Write or revise scripts for accuracy, editorial standards and grammar.
Research for interviews and stories.
Able to request news graphics including the editorial and creative process.
Guide talent, producers and the technical team in the control room.
Work under the direct supervision of the Executive Producer and complete any other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications Basic Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or equivalent work experience.
Minimum 3 years of experience in a newsroom in Spanish and at least 2 years of experience in crafting and building show rundowns in cable, broadcast or digital environments.
Proficient in I-News, VIZ, Media Central.
Demonstrated success operating in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work under tight deadlines to write headlines and edit video for live digital broadcast.
Must be fully fluent in English and Spanish (both written and verbal).
Available to work weekends, nights, early mornings, holidays and able to cover vacations and sick days.

Accustomed to working in a team and collaborating with all levels within the organization.
Proven excellent interpersonal skills combined with a strong sense of how to visually tell a compelling story.
Outside-the-box thinker.
