Position Overview

As a Sales Engineer, you will support the Sales Engineering team by assisting in the technical review of project opportunities, system sizing, and proposal development for battery energy storage systems (BESS). Working under the guidance of senior team members, you will contribute to the creation of technical documentation, help respond to customer Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and participate in meetings with internal stakeholders and clients.

This role is ideal for early-career engineers who are passionate about renewable energy and are looking to gain hands-on experience in the energy storage industry. You’ll have the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals while developing your technical, communication, and project coordination skills.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist in reviewing customer RFPs and identifying key technical requirements.
  • Support system sizing and configuration analysis using LGES Vertech tools.
  • Help prepare technical documentation and contribute to proposal writing.
  • Participate in internal meetings with Sales, Proposals, and Engineering teams to coordinate solution development.
  • Attend customer meetings and assist in addressing technical questions under supervision.
  • Help maintain organized records of technical proposals and revisions.
  • Learn and understand relevant standards, interconnection requirements, and permitting documentation.
  • Support the development of technical contract documents and exhibits with guidance from senior engineers.
  • Identify and communicate potential technical risks or considerations to the team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Energy Engineering) is required.
  • 0–3 years of relevant experience in energy storage, renewable energy, or power systems. Internship or co-op experience is a plus.
  • Interest in energy storage systems and clean energy technologies.
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems, batteries, or energy technologies such as solar PV, wind, or fuel cells.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work on multiple tasks in a team setting.
  • Eagerness to learn from experienced team members and take initiative on assigned responsibilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Familiarity with CAD or simulation tools is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to customer or project sites as needed.
