Data Engineering Manager Hybrid (3x / wk onsite) - Boston, MA

We are looking for a Data Engineering Manager who combines strong traditional data warehousing experience with expertise in modern data engineering technologies. You will lead initiatives across cloud platforms, data orchestration frameworks, and transformation tools to deliver scalable, reliable, and business-critical data solutions. This is a hands-on leadership role, guiding a small team and collaborating with both business and technical stakeholders to shape the future of our enterprise data landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage modern data pipelines using Snowflake, DBT, Apache Airflow, and Azure Data Pipelines.
  • Lead the migration and modernization of legacy ETL processes (Informatica PowerCenter) to scalable cloud-based architectures.
  • Integrate diverse data sources, including on-prem and cloud databases, APIs, XML feeds, and third-party systems.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into efficient, well-architected data solutions.
  • Develop and maintain dimensional models and robust data transformation logic aligned with business definitions.
  • Lead a team of up to 4 offshore / Onshore developers : assign tasks, validate deliverables, and provide technical guidance and also on call support when required.
  • Maintain detailed technical documentation and contribute to architectural roadmaps.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering or data warehousing environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience with : Snowflake (data modeling, optimization, performance tuning), DBT (Data Build Tool) for transformation and data testing and Apache Airflow
  • Azure Data Factory / Azure DevOps Pipelines for CI / CD and data integration
  • Working knowledge of Informatica PowerCenter and experience in transitioning ETL workloads from legacy tools.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud-based platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, or GCP) and data lake architecture.
  • Exposure to big data tools (Spark, Kafka, Delta Lake) and predictive analytics workflows.
  • Working experience with Data science team.
  • Familiarity with CI / CD and version control (Git, Azure Repos, etc.).
  • Prior experience with Adobe Campaign or other digital marketing platforms is a plus.
