Job Title : Medical Lab Scientist

Job Description

The Medical Lab Scientist is responsible for performing both routine and specialized laboratory testing, ensuring quality control measures are followed. The role requires an understanding of the theory behind most tests and the ability to troubleshoot common technical issues. The scientist will obtain blood specimens and collect non-blood specimens such as urine, sputum, and throat swabs for laboratory testing, perform screening tests, report results, and prepare specimens for dispatch and testing at reference laboratories.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized laboratory testing.
• Ensure quality control measures are strictly followed.
• Understand the theory behind most tests and troubleshoot technical issues.
• Obtain blood specimens and collect non-blood specimens such as urine, sputum, and throat swabs.
• Perform screening tests and report results.
• Process specimens to prepare them for laboratory testing.
• Prepare specimens for dispatch to reference laboratories.

Work Environment

The position involves working two evening shifts from 2 PM to 10 : 30 PM, including every other weekend. The work environment is equipped with advanced laboratory technologies to support efficient testing and processing.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00 / hr.
