Planning And Housing Administrator
The Planning and Housing Administrator leads all permitting matters associated with residential and commercial construction projects within the City of Statesboro under the general direction and supervision of the Director of Planning & Development. This position administers all housing initiatives funded and / or sponsored by the City.
Examples of duties include administering the Statesboro Housing Rehabilitation Program, managing permitting workflow for residential and commercial projects, providing guidance on zoning matters for developers, staff, and elected officials, managing grants related to housing development and infrastructure, approving contractors for housing rehabilitation projects, preparing draft reports for the Planning Commission, serving as liaison for the Georgia Initiative for Community Housing and the Land Bank, and representing the City to the public, including potential program participants, and providing guidance.
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Planning, Public Administration, Engineering or a closely related field, three (3) years of experience in a related field, or equivalent training, education, and / or experience; and a valid State of Georgia Driver's License.
Preferred qualifications include American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) Certification.
The selected candidate must complete the following requirements prior to working with the City of Statesboro : Background Investigation and Pre-Employment Urinalysis.
