JOB SUMMARY

Acts on behalf of the organization, providing supervision for all staff members within the department. Participates in the hiring process and makes recommendations for disciplinary action as necessary. Demonstrates knowledge of and assures compliance with accrediting / regulatory agency standards, hospital / departmental policies and procedures, operations and budget responsibilities.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Experience :

Current management experience required (includes three years of charge experience)

Experience working with EMS community.

Education :

BSN Required; MSN preferred

Licensure & Certifications :

RN - MA RN License

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Knowledge of trauma service needs.

Viewed as a role model for professionalism.

Ability to interpret and administer policies.

Demonstrates leadership ability and communicates a strong work ethic and commitment toward excellence in the healthcare service or profession.

Excellent interpersonal skills, communicates effectively with patients, family members, physicians, management and staff.

Well-organized and able to handle a variety of complex assignments simultaneously.

Demonstrated understanding of Joint Commission and other regulatory standards.

Demonstrated dependability.

Documented effectiveness in confronting problems and resolving conflict.
