Lighting Designer – Greensboro, NC

Are you passionate about design and eager to make a visible impact in your community? We're seeking a Lighting Designer to support a major utility lighting program, helping meet the growing demand for outdoor lighting solutions across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors. In this role, you'll blend fieldwork and design expertise to create lighting plans that enhance safety, aesthetics, and functionality. You'll work directly with customers and utility teams to assess needs, verify infrastructure, and deliver tailored lighting designs that align with industry standards.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct site visits to assess lighting needs and verify utility infrastructure.
  • Take measurements, photographs, and document field data.
  • Design outdoor lighting plans that meet customer needs and comply with standards.
  • Collaborate with utility employees and customers to ensure satisfaction.
  • Balance field and office work, including staking poles and flagging routes.
  • Address customer concerns with professionalism and problem-solving skills.

What You Bring

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field (preferred).
  • Previous design experience, especially in electric utility or lighting (a plus).
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and MicroStation (highly recommended).
  • Understanding of basic engineering principles and construction practices.
  • Strong communication skills to engage with diverse individuals and teams.
  • Ability to manage schedules and work both independently and collaboratively.

    • Pay And Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00 / hr.
