This position is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of all monitoring, controlling, and indicating devices in the plant. The technician maintains a detailed record of loop configuration and interaction with field equipment and the overall control scheme of the plant. Technicians respond to callouts, work overtime when needed, and learn plant processes during startup.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the programming, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintenance of the Distributed Control System and other PLC control systems in the plant.
- Responsible for the installation, calibration, repairs, and preventative maintenance of all field devices such as pressure gauges & transmitters, temperature elements and indicators, flow elements, indicators & transmitters, water and steam quality monitors, level indicating devices, and switches.
- Troubleshoots, calibrates and maintains electro-pneumatic converters, control valves, governor actuators, and position indicator to ensure trouble free plant operation.
- Inspects, calibrates and maintains the plant Continuous Emissions Monitoring System (CEMS). Records and maintains data as required to comply with environmental permit conditions.
- Makes updates to diagrams, drawings, calibration sheets, and other documents when changes and / or modifications are made.
- Performs confined space Attendant or Entrant duties as required.
- May report to the Control Operator in the absence of the Maintenance Manager or as may otherwise be appropriate.
- Execute Lock Out Tag Out and Energy Isolation Procedures.
- Troubleshooting and performing maintenance on breakers and electrical distribution systems.
- May be required to work from heights.
- Responsible for the completion of special tasks and projects assigned by the Control Operator, Operations & Maintenance Manager or General Manager.
Qualifications
Education, certifications, licenses or apprenticeships regarding electronics and electrical supply are considered.3 to 5 Years of experience working in an industrial setting.Experience with troubleshooting controls and monitoring equipment.Familiarity with industrial electrical supply; experience in the power industry is a plus.DCS experience a plus.Must be able to climb ladders, work from heights, and work in confined and hot or cold conditions at times.BHE Renewables delivers sustainable energy solutions for customers and communities.
