Assistant Manager
Assistant managers at Domino's Pizza are responsible for everything that happens during their shift. This includes all cost controls, inventory control, cash control, and customer relations. They must set the example, follow all policy and procedures 100% of the time, and expect the same from their crew. In addition, assistant managers are responsible for staffing, paperwork, cost controls, cash control, food management, working to a schedule, maintaining a perfect image and adherence to standards, providing great customer service, ensuring attendance and punctuality, transportation to / from work, store cleanliness, and marketing. Profitability is also a key aspect of the role.
Qualifications for assistant managers include general job duties for all store team members, operating all equipment, stocking ingredients, preparing products, receiving and processing telephone orders, taking inventory and completing associated paperwork, and cleaning equipment and facilities daily. Training is provided on the job, including orientation and training.
Communication skills required for the role include the ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions, communicate verbally with customers and co-workers to process orders both over the phone and in person. Essential functions / skills include the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly (may use calculator), make correct monetary change, verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders, motor coordination between eyes and hands / fingers to rapidly and accurately make precise movements with speed, and ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
Work conditions include exposure to varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions, in-store temperatures ranging from 36 degrees in cooler to 90 degrees and above in some work areas, sudden changes in temperature, fumes from food odors, exposure to cornmeal dust, cramped quarters including walk-in cooler, and hot surfaces / tools from oven up to 500 degrees or higher. Sensing abilities required include talking and hearing on telephone, near and mid-range vision for most in-store tasks, depth perception, and ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces.
Physical requirements include standing for most tasks, walking for short distances for short durations, sitting for paperwork, lifting bulk product deliveries, carrying large cans, pizza sauce, and trays of pizza dough, pushing and pulling trays on dollies, climbing stairs or ladders, stooping / bending, crouching / squatting, reaching up, down, and forward, and hand tasks including eye-hand coordination, use of hands, shaping pizza dough, manipulating a pizza peel, pinching in the assembly of cardboard pizza boxes, and grasping various items.
Team members may be required to utilize pencils / pens, computers, telephones, calculators, TDD equipment, pizza cutter, and pizza peel. Advancement opportunities exist from customer service representative to management, General Manager to Manager Corporate Operations or Franchisee, and franchise ownership.
