The Accounting Intern is primarily responsible for general accounting duties that may include but are not limited to : accounts payable; daily reconciliations; correspondent bank accounts; special projects; and other analysis / reporting assistance as needed. This role offers hands-on experience in corporate accounting practices and exposure to various financial systems and tools. Strong communication skills, ability to work across department lines, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines are essentials to thrive in this position.

As an Accounting Intern, you will :

  • Assist in preparing journal entries and compiling information for reconciling accounts.
  • Support month-end and quarter-end close processes.
  • Assist with regulatory data compilation for taxes and other regulatory reporting.
  • Help with invoice processing and expense tracking.
  • Maintain organized financial records and documentation.
  • Perform ad hoc financial analysis and reporting tasks.
  • Assist with financial research related to reconciliations, analysis, and internal inquiries.
  • Assist with fixed asset tracking and reconciliations.
  • Assist with prepaid tracking and reconciliations.
  • Assist with investment held at cost and other investment tracking.
  • Uphold Nicolet's philosophy and policies by maintaining appropriate controls to ensure full compliance with applicable laws and regulations, thereby fulfilling legal responsibilities and enhancing the quality of services provided by Nicolet.

Qualifications :

  • Student currently in school working towards Accounting Degree; Junior or Senior status preferred.
