Responsibilities

The Tax Staff is responsible for a range of tax-related duties at both local and national levels, including supporting compliance with property, sales, and other business taxes. This role assists in tax return preparation and ensures the secure handling of sensitive information in accordance with established guidelines and supervisory oversight.

Responsibilities :

• Prepare monthly sales and use tax returns.
• Support property tax management with data entry, tracking, validating, remitting, and accruing monthly property taxes.
• Facilitates state sales / use tax audits by retrieving vendor documents from electronic databases and other data retrieval under guidance.
• Validates and logs sales tax exemption certificates from customers for staff review.
• Ensure tax filings are timely, accurate, and compliant with federal and state tax regulations.
• Prepare payment requests.
• Assist staff accountants in preparing financial statements related to taxes and preparing supporting schedules for audits.
• Assist the tax manager with tax planning strategies.
