Chief Growth Officer – Role & Responsibilities
As the executive leader responsible for shaping and executing firmwide growth strategies, the Chief Growth Officer (CGO) partners closely with the CEO, Board, and senior leadership to translate ESA’s mission and strategic priorities into actionable business development and marketing initiatives that drive market share, revenue growth, brand elevation, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead ESA’s growth strategy across regions, markets, and practices, embedding industry intelligence, competitor benchmarking, and client insights into planning.
- Partner with the CEO, M&A Committee Chair, and Board to identify acquisition targets aligned with strategic growth objectives.
- Oversee firmwide business development strategy and execution, building a robust pipeline and expanding the private‑sector client base while maintaining strong public‑sector relationships.
- Guide the development of client segmentation, pursuit strategies, pipeline forecasting, and cross‑functional collaboration to capture new opportunities and enhance client experience.
- Collaborate with ESA’s senior leadership to articulate the vision for brand identity and market presence, and work with Communications to develop integrated marketing campaigns, thought leadership, and public relations efforts.
- Partner with the COO and CFO to evolve ESA’s revenue model, including fixed‑bid and value‑based contracting approaches, and develop revenue goals and forecasting models for key service areas.
- Inspire and mentor high‑performing teams, fostering collaboration, accountability, and a culture of innovation and inclusivity.
Qualifications
15+ years of strategic leadership experience in growth strategy and business development within the AEC industry, including 5+ years in executive roles driving growth, profitability, and transformation.Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, environmental planning, or related interdisciplinary field.Proven success as a Chief Growth Officer in mid‑sized AEC organizations, with a track record of accelerating revenue growth, expanding market share, and aligning financial strategy with long‑term business development goals.Deep understanding of ESA’s mission, multidisciplinary approach, exceptional communication, analytical, and relationship‑building skills.Experience leading cross‑functional teams and navigating complex organizational dynamics, strategic thinker with a bias for action and results.Pay Transparency
CA Pay Transparency Clause : $250,000—$310,000 USD
