The pharmacy technician shall aid in the compounding, dispensing, and charging of all medications and other pharmaceutical supplies using established guidelines for filling physician orders. All tasks are completed under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. The technician shall work very closely with the pharmacist and the nursing staff to provide quality patient care. The hours are day shift hours 8am to 5pm, with a rotating Saturday shift from 8am to 12pm. No nights and no Sundays are required for this position.
Responsibilities :
Prepare the pharmacy for opening.Provide courteous, friendly service to patients, visitors, and staffEnter prescriptions into the computer promptly and accuratelyFill prescriptions timely and accuratelyRing customers’ purchases and collect payment.Ask patients every time if they require information from the pharmacist (pharmaceutical care and medication counseling)Place drug ordersCheck in ordersRun daily audit, narcotic audit and charge posting reportsReturn drugs when the par level is high, or the drug is not moving as quickly as expectedAccurately perform the daily depositOrders drugs when par level is lowChecks for expired drugs monthlyAssist in quality improvement and pillar goal data collectionFill stock requisitions from other departmentsAssist in inventory managementCreate stock requisitions for pharmacy supplies from Central Supply DeptRestock pharmacy supplies (vials, bags, etc.)Take mail to administration building on a regular basisAdhere to HIPAA guidelines and confidentialityMaintain a clean and organized work areaMakes constructive recommendations for enhancing pharmacy servicesAssist pharmacy manager in implementing new programsPerform other related work as requested or requiredCompensation details : 20-21 Hourly Wage
