Position : 1st and 2nd Shift Production Supervisor (Assembly, Shipping and Receiving, Machining Areas)
Shift : 2nd Shift Monday – Friday 3 : 30pm-12 : 00am
Manages others : Yes, 20 direct reports
Education : HSD / GED required; Associate's degree is preferred
10 years of production experience and management of assembly areas is required. 3-5 years supervisory experience in a fast paced manufacturing setting is required.
General Responsibilities :
The Production Supervisor’s role is to support, direct, and manage the workforce and work area to safely produce customer requirements within budgeted costs. Supervisors should spend 80% of their workday on the shop floor and 20% off the floor to perform their assigned responsibilities. Responsible for the efficient and effective management of their area to meet goals including :

Specific Duties
Assist the Director of Operations to accomplish plant wide goals by managing employees, selecting jobs, selection and placement of personnel for daily job assignmentsInspect as needed completed material utilizing hand inspection equipment, i.e. Vernier calipers, micrometer and drop dial indicators as well as Profilometer and CMM machinesEnforce Company Rules and Regulations, which apply to this department.Responsible for working with hourly employees, human resources and union representatives to staff the departmentAssist department personnel with any technical guidance necessaryEnsure compliance with PPE and Safety procedures. Correct behavioral or conditional risks immediately. Investigate and write up accident reports.Improve workplace 6S through daily observations and improvementsAssign work daily and move labor to operations necessary to support customer requirementsAttend and participate in shift start up Gemba walksTrack Labor and Optimize use of straight and overtime hoursManage department spending within budgetDevelop / follow a daily production plan that supports customer needsEnsure employees are properly trained and submit all training recordsMaintain visual displays of work group activity and goals.Address underperformance / workmanship issues with coaching, counseling, and / or progressive discipline, utilizing Human Resources.Assist in make-up of schedule; Direct and guide the dispatching and schedule execution.Support / Assist / Lead Lean initiativesEstablish and support team atmosphere within assigned area.Cross training and creating / maintaining a flexible workforce.Conduct team Meetings with all direct reports reviewing safety and productivity goals.Requirements :
HSD / GED is required; Associate's degree is preferred10 years of production experience and management of assembly areas is required3-5 years of supervisory experience in a fast-paced manufacturing setting is required.Strong knowledge or lean manufacturing and standard work is required.Experience managing machining areas is preferred.Union experience is preferred.
