As an Entry-Level Driver, you will gain essential skills for the trucking profession, including delivering products to various customer locations accurately and on time. You will also gain insight into warehouse operations, setting the foundation for a successful career as a McLane Driver.

- Training Pay Rate : $23.50.
- Competitive Pay : After training, drivers can earn between $75,000 and $85,000.

Your responsibilities as a Driver Trainee include :
Positioning the tractor to attach the trailer and securing it.Driving the truck safely while adhering to all local, state, and federal regulations as well as company policies.Conducting pre / post-trip inspections of the tractor-trailer and submitting DOT inspection reports.Using Driver Delivery Handheld (DDH) to document delivery receipts, product temperatures, and any exceptions. Ensuring that products are secured for safe transport.Riding with a Driver Trainer to various destinations to learn about commercial driving regulations and observe essential driving practices.Maintaining driver logs according to DOT regulations, including documenting delivery receipts and product temperatures.Assisting the Driver with unloading the trailer and delivering products to customers.Completing additional duties as assigned.Qualifications for becoming a Driver Trainee :
High School Diploma or GED preferred.Must be at least 21 years old.Eligibility under McLane’s Transfer and Promotion Policy.Complete training and obtain a Class A CDL within 6 months.Ability and willingness to select, load, unload, and / or deliver all products ordered by McLane's customers.Physical ability to stand, walk, sit, climb, reach, bend, squat, and stoop as needed.Ability to read and understand labels, instructions, and bills of lading.Basic math skills to verify product quantities.Effective communication with customers, management, and team members.Safe operation of a tractor-trailer and use of a 2-wheeled dolly, ramps, and onboard PeopleNet devices.Proficiency in reading, writing, and understanding English for job-related tasks, safety protocols, and instructions.Are you a good fit?
