The Community Liaison supports the community immersion components of the Human Dimension (HD) Course, including the Human Dimension Voices Program (HDVP). This involves partnering with medical students and community members, building connections, supporting advocacy, and providing feedback on community immersion efforts. The role serves as a contact point for community members and involves analyzing community health needs, developing relationships, and interfacing with faculty, students, and agencies.

This position is based in Nutley, NJ, with a hybrid schedule requiring 3 days onsite weekly and travel across northern NJ communities.

The work hours are generally 9 : 00 am - 4 : 45 pm, with occasional early shifts starting at 8 : 00 am.

Responsibilities

• Recruits families for the Human Dimension course via outreach activities.
• Supports community engagement events.
• Mentors medical students regarding relationships with program participants.
• Collaborates with faculty and community agencies to determine community needs and services.
• Analyzes population health data to inform program decisions.
• Conducts safety screenings and interviews.
• Recommends outreach activities addressing community health needs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
