Overview
Steel Shop Structural Fitter
Superior Iron Works Inc. is a growing AISC certified miscellaneous metals / structural steel fabricator and erector in the DC, VA & MD areas. We are currently looking for Fitter / Fabricators to help with assembling components for production.
Responsibilities
- Measuring, laying out, aligning, and fitting fabricated metal work according to blueprints.
- Positioning metal work with overhead crane or forklift.
- Preparing steel for welding using grinder, etc.
- Welding in accordance with the blueprints and specifications.
- Finishing metal work (clean slag, splatter, or excess weld).
- Cleaning and housekeeping activities.
Qualifications
Hours
Day shift hours are 7am – 3 : 30pm Monday – Friday
Compensation
Compensation will be determined based on experience and skill level.
Requirements
Must have own transportation.
