Location : Miami, FL

Job Type : Full-time | Contract

About the Role

Quality Patient Centered Services (QPCS) is seeking a dedicated Behavioral Health Technician (BHT)

to join our team at the Krome Detention Center in Miami, Florida. The BHT will support behavioral

health services by assisting with screenings, wellness checks, and therapeutic group facilitation under the

supervision of a licensed Behavioral Health Provider.

This role is vital in promoting safety, engagement, and recovery for patients within a secure, integrated

healthcare setting.

What You’ll Do

• Conduct mental health screenings and behavioral observations.
• Assist with patient education, psycho-educational groups, and skill-building activities.
• Perform sleep checks, segregation wellness checks, and safety monitoring.
• Document encounters and observations in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Escort behavioral health patients to appointments as required.
• Monitor and report behavioral changes or risk factors to the Behavioral Health Provider.
• Support crisis intervention efforts and promote therapeutic recovery.

Requirements

Associate degree in behavioral science or related field.

Minimum 2 years of experience in a mental health or residential healthcare setting.

AAPT Level 3 certification (within 12 months of hire).

BLS certification through the American Heart Association or Red Cross.

Knowledge of therapeutic communication, psychiatric recovery, and HIPAA standards.

Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and EHR systems.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Schedule

Full-time schedule; hours may vary to meet facility needs.

Must be flexible to work weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts as required.
