About The Position

Must-Have :

• Experience working with ventilators for 2-3 shifts per week is required.
• Experience with hyperbilirubinemia, general surgery, neonatal sepsis, and steroid administration is required.
• Previous pediatric hospital experience is necessary for floating, candidates without this experience will be screened out.
• Must work 2 of 3 holidays.
• First-timers are accepted.
• Strongly preferred experience in academic medical centers with Level III and Level IV NICU.
• Pre / Post Op surgical experience, management of trachs, central lines, drips, and small baby care required.

Description :

Seeking a NICU Registered Nurse.

The position requires working nights on a three-shift rotation.

Candidates must have a minimum of two years of pediatric nursing experience.

The ability to work with various ventilators including oscillators, bubble CPAP, and NIPPV is essential.

Job responsibilities will include managing neonates with various conditions such as sepsis and respiratory distress syndrome.

Candidates will be required to perform assessments and provide care to neonatal patients presenting with life-threatening anomalies.

The unit offers interdisciplinary support from various teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy.

Patient ratios will be 1-3 depending on the shift.

Candidates should have experience with invasive hemodynamic monitoring and neonatal dosage calculations.

A thorough understanding of complex neonatal care, including the use of IVs and phototherapy, is critical.

Applications from candidates who have previously been separated from employment for one year are welcome.

Candidates should be prepared for potential floating to pediatric, PICU, or CVICU units as necessary.
