Responsibilities

• Initiation of Administrative Proceedings : Independently review case files, develop legal opinions, and prepare probable cause recommendations, including administrative complaints and closing orders.
• Board Presentations : Present cases before healthcare licensure boards across the State of Florida for final disciplinary action.
• Litigation : Represent the Department before the Division of Administrative Hearings, managing all aspects of litigation from trial preparation to post-hearing pleadings.
• Case Management : Oversee an inventory of cases, ensuring timely and effective resolution in compliance with statutory requirements.
• Collaboration : Respond to public records requests, inquiries from counsel, Respondents, members of the public and other agencies regarding ongoing cases.
• Continuing Legal Education : Opportunity for up to 24 hours yearly of free CLE credit regarding all aspects of administrative litigation and general practice.
