GM is undergoing a major transformation, focusing on innovation in transportation. Our Centralized Labs are key to this effort, seeking motivated individuals to join and help advance our mission.

We are seeking a self-motivated Lab System Integration Engineer to manage software changes and integrate applications across GM laboratories supporting emissions testing for various propulsion systems. We value energetic, innovative individuals eager to solve problems and implement new technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Design and support high-accuracy, reliable test systems for vehicle development, considering human factors, fault tolerance, and scalability.
  • Lead project planning, budgeting, resource management, and provide technical guidance.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot emission test automation systems; lead system integration efforts for capital projects.
  • Coordinate with facilities, labs, and vendors to upgrade and resolve issues with test systems.
  • Manage work and change requests, ensuring timely completion and feedback.
  • Provide technical leadership, manage multiple projects, stay updated on new tech, and communicate effectively.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Engineering or a technical field
  • 3+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Experience working in a laboratory environment
  • Understanding of vehicle control systems and emissions technologies
  • Ability to manage complex information and multiple projects
  • Familiarity with basic coding, especially in C#
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Science Engineering
  • 5+ years in automotive or related fields
  • Experience with emissions laboratory operations
  • Proficiency with lab hardware and software tools
  • Experience with AVL iGEM, A&D iTEST, Horiba emissions benches, Bitbucket
  • Knowledge of advanced emissions measurement systems
  • Data analysis skills with AVL Concerto
  • Advanced skills in C# and scripting languages
