Position Overview
As an Energy Modeler II at Henderson Engineers, you will have the opportunity to contribute your energy analysis expertise to our six market sectors, including Business, Community, Grocery & Distribution, Health, Retail, and Venue. This role is fully devoted to providing detailed energy analysis for LEED certification, code compliance, utility rebate, and / or client energy efficiency goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed energy analysis for LEED certification, Code compliance, utility rebate, and / or client energy efficiency goals
- Analysis of energy savings opportunities and design alternatives
- Working with teams on implementing sustainable and high-performance designs
- Providing coordination of project designs with other disciplines
- Maintaining positive client relationships
Required Qualifications
3 years of relevant energy modeling experience with a degree, or 5 years of experience without a degree requiredDegrees accepted : Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural, Mechanical, Efficiency, Renewable Energy, Energy, or Electrical EngineeringExperience with IES energy simulation software is a must.Have strong fundamentals in building physics and heat transferPossess an understanding of HVAC systems and related mechanical concepts (preferred)Possess an understanding of building energy performance and simulation methodsPreferred Qualifications
Energy simulation software such as eQuest or EnergyPlus.Experience using Microsoft Excel for data analysis & visualizationExperience with scripting using one or more of the following : Python, VBA, R, or similar languageExperience with Rhino and Grasshopper based simulation toolsInterest in daylighting, CFD, passive design, renewable energy analysis, and / or HVAC system comparison analysisBuilding performance analysis or energy modeling criteria (C.E.M., BEMP, HBDP, etc.)Henderson Engineers, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
