Family Therapist (BSFT)

Compensation : $62,000 - $70,000 per year

Schedule : Full-Time | Monday - Friday | 9 : 00 AM - 5 : 00 PM (Hybrid)

We are seeking a compassionate Family Therapist specializing in Brief Strategic Family Therapy (BSFT) to join our client’s prevention team in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In this role, you will work to support child safety, strengthen family dynamics, and prevent foster care placements by providing structured, in-home therapy sessions. You will collaborate closely with case planners and the BSFT team to promote a safe and stable home environment.

Key Responsibilities :

• Therapeutic Engagement : Establish and maintain strong therapeutic relationships with all family members, conducting weekly in-home BSFT sessions for approximately 10 families.
• Assessments : Continuously evaluate family safety and risk factors, developing safety plans as needed.
• Family Therapy : Implement a strength-based approach to engage family members in developing treatment plans, improving communication, and addressing collective family needs.
• Documentation : Maintain accurate and timely records for ACS and BSFT, ensuring compliance with all reporting requirements.
• Professional Development : Actively participate in BSFT training, supervision, and competency evaluations to enhance therapeutic effectiveness.
