Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Physical Therapist for a home health position, requiring at least 2.5 years of relevant experience and a WA State PT license.
Responsibilities
Work in a home health setting serving the Yakima County areaPatient population includes orthopedic, post-op (hips / knees), discharges, deconditioned, fall risk, and post-stroke neuro patientsAverage caseload of 5 patients per day with both routine visits and evaluationsWork days are 10-hour shifts, typically Monday through Friday with optional four 10-hour shifts per weekWeekend rotation required, working Saturday every 5-6 weeks with one weekday off during that weekNo on-call responsibilitiesWill float as needed throughout Yakima CountyUses Epic EMR; Dell laptop and Apple iPhone providedDaily responsibilities include conducting patient visits in home settings and participating in evaluationsSupport is available from supervising PTs, PTAs, schedulers, and insurance authorization staffA tiered orientation model with skill check-offs is provided, typically completed within the first week depending on skill levelProfessional attire or scrubs of any color are required; gym clothes are not permittedTeam culture is small and supportive, featuring daily morning huddles and a weekly case conference every TuesdayMust be able to work independently while maintaining strong team collaborationParticipation in a holiday rotation is expectedRequested time off must be approved in advanceFirst-time travelers will not be considered for this positionRequirements
Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy programActive WA State Physical Therapy license required if applicableCurrent BLS certification requiredMinimum 2.5 to 3 years of experience, preferably in home health with a mix of inpatient and outpatient experience highly preferredAbility to lift, carry, bend, twist, and perform general physical therapy dutiesExperience working with Spanish-speaking patients; must be comfortable utilizing an interpreterPersonal vehicle and valid driver’s license requiredOASIS certification preferred but not requiredBenefits
