Location : NYC Hybrid Full-time
The Regulatory Counsel, Bank Regulatory will be responsible for providing legal advice and strategy on complex bank regulatory, trust, and stablecoin matters to business leaders within Payoneer. The position is based in New York and will report to the Global Regulatory Counsel in New York.
Responsibilities
- Providing legal advice to assist Payoneer in the development and management of significant and complex bank regulatory matters
- Supporting Payoneer in building and maintaining good working relationships with external stakeholders, such as U.S. banking regulators and government agencies
- Researching, analyzing and determining effects of quickly evolving banking regulations at the federal and state level, and keeping current on issues and upcoming regulatory changes that may impact Payoneer's strategic goals and objectives
- Liaising and working with outside counsel
- Supporting business, finance, treasury and other teams with the development of new services, and fostering strong relationships across multiple functional areas
Qualifications
Fully qualified lawyer with excellent academic credentials, qualified in the United States and with at least 5 years of post-admission experience practicing as an attorney at a reputable law firm or relevant in-house legal departmentFinancial services and banking industry experience is requiredExperience working directly with bank regulators and regulatory authorities is an advantage but not strictly requiredAbility to evaluate fact situations, identify legal issues, analyze and understand statutes, regulations and recommend appropriate courses of actionInnovative mindset with comfort working on new technologies and areas with evolving regulatory clarityAbility to provide practical legal advice and recommendations to internal stakeholders on matters of significant importance to the companyAbility to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environmentAbility to handle a diverse set of issues and provide a high level of service to internal customers in a friendly and professional mannerAn open communicator with skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships at all levels of the organizationFlexibility for occasional travelWhat we offer
