Responsibilities Position is in the Med / Surg Telemetry unit of an acute care hospital Unit has 17 beds with an average of 11 patients ranging from pediatric to geriatric Nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 3-4, with a maximum of 5 patients per nurse Patient population includes ortho (hips, knees, spinal surgery), diabetics, acute coronary syndrome, pneumonia, and standard Med / Surg cases Uses Cerner for electronic medical charting 12-hour night shifts (1900-0730) with every other weekend required First to float among units Floor-specific orientation consists of 2 shifts No vents or in-house IV team; respiratory therapy and pharmacy available 24 / 7 Responsibilities include providing nursing care and telemetry monitoring for a diverse patient population Nurse aides and unit techs support with patient care, tele monitoring, and documentation No in-house hospitalist or intensivist during overnight hours—available on-call after rounds Scrub color requirement is navy Holiday shifts are rotated with permanent staff Testing on dysrhythmia recognition and sterile technique for Foley catheter and central line dressing changes may be required prior to and during orientation Candidates must not have been employed by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facilities in the past year in any capacity except PRN through outside firms Requirements Active CA RN license required at the time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted Minimum of 2 years recent RN experience required Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS are required Prior experience in Med / Surg Telemetry preferred Must provide a copy of driver’s license Two professional references : one supervisor from the past 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the past 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibility Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-620288.
