Job Summary :
The Compliance and Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring that the organization meets all applicable regulations, industry standards, and internal quality guidelines. This individual will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring compliance and QA programs, as well as collaborating cross-functionally to drive continuous improvement in processes, products, and services.
Key Responsibilities :
Compliance Program Management :
- Develop, implement, and update policies and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and standards (e.g., ISO, FDA, GDPR, HIPAA, etc. depending on industry).
- Conduct regular risk assessments to identify areas of potential non-compliance and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of compliance-related activities, including training materials, audit findings, and remediation plans
Quality Assurance Oversight :
Oversee the development and execution of QA standards, methodologies, and best practices across the organization.Perform internal audits and inspections to verify compliance with established quality requirements.Monitor and analyze quality metrics, identifying trends and recommending improvements to processes, procedures, and product / service outcomes.Cross-Functional Collaboration :
Work with department heads and team leads to embed a culture of compliance and quality throughout the organization.Provide expert guidance on regulatory and quality-related matters in product / service development, operations, and other initiatives.Serve as the primary liaison to external auditors, regulatory bodies, and certification organizations.Training and Communication :
Develop and deliver training programs to ensure all staff understand and adhere to compliance requirements and quality standards.Communicate changes in policies, regulations, or industry guidelines and advise on the necessary updates to internal processes.Collaborate with HR and leadership to address any compliance and quality-related gaps or violations, taking proactive steps to prevent recurrence.Continuous Improvement :
Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements to enhance compliance controls and improve overall quality.Utilize data-driven insights and feedback from audits and inspections to refine QA processes and identify waste.Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in compliance and quality management.Qualifications and Skills :
Education : Bachelor's degree in Business, Law, Quality Management, or a related field. Advanced degree or certifications (e.g., CCEP, CQA, ISO Lead Auditor) are a plus.Experience : Minimum of 3-5 years in a compliance- or quality-focused role.Regulatory Knowledge : Familiarity with relevant industry regulations (e.g., ISO standards, FDA regulations, GDPR, HIPAA, etc.) and experience managing external and internal audits.Technical Proficiency : Comfortable using compliance and quality management software systems; strong understanding of data collection and reporting tools.Analytical Skills : Ability to interpret regulatory requirements, analyze complex data, identify trends, and propose effective corrective actions.Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex regulatory or quality issues in clear, concise language.Collaboration : Strong interpersonal skills and experience working in cross-functional environments; capable of influencing and driving change.Attention to Detail : A high degree of accuracy in documentation and an aptitude for detecting inconsistencies or potential violations.Ethical Mindset : Committed to acting with integrity and maintaining the highest ethical standards in all activities.TYPICAL PERFORMANCE TARGETS
