Overview

High School Level American Literature Tutor — remote online tutoring on the Varsity Tutors Live Learning Platform. You’ll have the flexibility to set your own schedule, earn competitive pay, and make a real impact on students’ learning journeys—from the comfort of your home.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver 1-on-1 online tutoring in High School Level American Literature.
  • Personalize lessons and adapt to different learning styles to maximize student understanding.
  • Leverage the AI-powered Tutor Copilot for real-time instructional support, lesson generation, and engagement features to save prep time and focus on teaching.
  • Schedule tutoring sessions and invoice for your sessions; tutor remotely via Varsity Tutors Live Learning Platform.
  • Get matched with students who fit your teaching style and expertise.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
  • Expertise in High School Level American Literature with the ability to explain concepts clearly.
  • Ability to personalize instruction and adapt to different learning styles.
  • Prior tutoring or teaching experience; graduate-level education preferred.

    • Compensation and Benefits

  • Base contract rates start at $18 / hour and can increase for specialized subjects, with potential to earn up to $40 / hour for repeated sessions with the same student.
  • Get paid up to twice per week.
  • Set your own hours and tutor as much as you’d like.
  • Tutor remotely using the Live Learning Platform—no commuting required.
  • We handle logistics; you invoice for tutoring sessions and we manage payments.

    • Note : Varsity Tutors does not contract with tutors in certain locations. This summary reflects current platform offerings and policies.
