Truck Driver (Class A CDL)

Overview

Weigand Construction is looking for a skilled and safety-focused Truck Driver to deliver essential materials and equipment to our job sites. If you're dependable, efficient, and eager to contribute to impactful projects, we want you on our team! Get ready to play a vital role in building our community!

Responsibilities

  • Transport construction equipment over land to and from Construction job sites.
  • Inspect the vehicle each day to confirm that the vehicle is road ready.
  • Meet delivery schedules put in place by Shop Management.
  • Document and log work / rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel / toll receipts.
  • Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.
  • Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions.
  • Collect and verify delivery instructions.
  • Report defects, accidents, or violations.

Requirements

  • Valid truck driving license (Class A CDL is required)
  • Proven work experience as a truck driver.
  • No recent moving or driving violations.
  • Hands-on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB etc).
  • Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations.
  • Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc)
