job_description.job_card.job_descriptionProvides direction, leadership and management of all scientific regulatory, marketing, compliance and customer support activities for a product family and / or processes. Accomplishes goals related to expanded internal investigations, expanded complaint investigations, design control, new product development, product availability and financial performance. Fosters continuous improvement. Plans and manages financial, capital, and human resource needs. Actively supports the personal and professional development of individuals. Acts as a liaison to management and associated functional groups. Accountable for internal / external customer satisfaction. Quality / Safety : Understand and apply the Quality Policy in daily activities. Ensure adherence to the Quality Policy and procedures by reporting noncompliance issues promptly. Safety : Work safely and responsibly. Technical Knowledge : Develop and apply knowledge in operations, products, and processes. Use sound judgment, scientific methods, and data analysis. Accurately document work. Planning / Project Management : Plan, design, execute, and document projects efficiently, following applicable OPs. Patient Focus : Resolve customer issues by understanding processes, product performance, and clinical utility. Communication / Leadership : Demonstrate effective communication skills. Mentor and train others. Business Focus / Alignment : Demonstrate fiscal responsibility through actionable recommendations. Align resources with strategic business priorities. Translate organizational goals into team goals. Leadership : Lead and mentor a team of 5-20 employees. Identify and achieve personal and professional development objectives. Accountability : Manage a product or process at one or more sites. Support Operations and AQA. Manage budget performance, plan and resolve financial gaps, and explain variances. Relationship Building : Cultivate relationships with internal and external customers. Develop strong networks within the company and industry. Decision Making : Make timely scientific, operational, and business decisions. Elevate high-risk decisions appropriately. Ensure effective GMP / ISO practices within the team. B.S. in Science or similar degrees Experience includes leading others at multiple levels in project management, product development / launch / on-market leadership, crisis management, customer interactions. Proven ability to develop others. Knowledge and understanding of business metrics. Experience includes multiple functions (R&D, TPD, QA, OPs, etc), products, and / or platforms. Experience with resource planning, budgetary management, and personnel administration. Masters and Ph.D. Preferred

The Leader Technical Support II works out of our Irving TX location in the Core Diagnostics Division of Abbott Diagnostics. Our diagnostic solutions are used in hospitals, laboratories, and clinics around the globe. The crucial information derived from our tests, instruments, and informatics systems is often the first step in patient care decision-making for hundreds of health conditions from heart attacks to blood disorders to infectious diseases and cancers.
