A company is looking for a Referral Coordinator to manage patient referral processes in a community healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinates all aspects of the patient referral process and ensures adherence to timelines and procedures

Obtains referral authorizations from insurance carriers and resolves related issues prior to patient appointments

Maintains updated referral resources and ensures compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent

Three years of experience in the healthcare field, including one year in a relevant role such as Medical Assistant or Patient Services Representative

Knowledge of federal, state, and local insurance regulations

Familiarity with the referral process for various insurance plans

Experience with electronic health record systems and data entry
