Position Overview
In this role, you will work with our utility crews to lay and / or dig up pipe in the ground. As you grow, you'll be trained on various types of utility equipment. From utility / conduit, to water and sewer lines you'll work on projects big and small, playing an integral part as we stand together to reinvent the way our world is built.

Wage : $18.00-$29.97 / hr DOE w / potential for overtime. Work could include Davis Bacon Wages and Non-Davis Bacon Wages

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
Operate equipment safely and efficiently by utilizing equipment within its designed parameters.Locate utilities and other buried lines prior to digging.Shovel earth / dirt to prepare ground trenches for pipes.May dig up existing ground pipes and other debris with manual tools as needed.Guide pipes into place while equipment operator maneuvers pipes attached with chains / guide wires.Attach trench box to chains / guide wires so it can be lowered or lifted by the equipment operator.Attach pipes to chains / guide wires.Cut pipe and connect pipe using misc. tools, lubricants, glue / grout.Build couplings, connectors, and mechanical joints using parts and tools.Set up and move laser level / tripod and pipe lasers.Perform job site clean-up.Fence off job site areas for safety purposes. Set up barricades and safety cones.Perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor.Keep machines cleaned and maintained.Knowledge of trenching and shoring standards.Keep time and material records.Travel to and from various locations.Routinely assist other members of the work force in different areas of production.May operate heavy equipment to include front end loader, excavator, backhoe, or other equipment as needed.Take action to avoid potential hazards or obstructions.Other tasks and duties as assigned to meet business needs.Regular and timely attendance.Participate in and promote an inclusive work environment.Qualifications

Minimum Requirements
Valid Drivers LicenseAbility to read and comprehend blueprints, site specifications, simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Ability to accurately setup laser level and pipe laserAbility to figure grades and slopes.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructionsMust pass pre-employment drug screen and physical examinationMust have current authorization to work in the United StatesAbility to travel outside Helena, MT. Travel will be required at times for this job and may require 50% or more during work season.Preferred Qualifications
CDL a plus but not required.One to two years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.Physical Demands
