Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An elementary school in Canton, NC is seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to provide one-on-one support for a kindergarten student. This is a contract position for the duration of the school year.

Responsibilities include :

• Delivering clear and effective sign language interpretation services in a 1 : 1 educational setting
• Facilitating munication between the student, teachers, and peers to support learning and social interaction
• Adapting interpreting techniques to meet the individual needs of the student
• Collaborating with educational staff to ensure inclusion and accessibility in the classroom
• Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times

Qualifications :

Minimum EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score of 3.0 required

Experience interpreting in early education or elementary school settings preferred

Strong understanding of Deaf culture and effective munication strategies for young children

Ability to support a kindergarten student with patience and flexibility

Reliable mitment to the entire school year contract
