A Day In The Life
We are committed to providing preventative and restorative care to all residents and clients here at Rockingham County. We want our residents to feel safe, comfortable, and supported in all aspects of their lives to include not only physical, but also emotional, social, spiritual, environmental, and intellectual well-being. The Assistant Director of Nursing supervises all licensed and non-licensed personnel who provide health care and nursing services to residents / clients, assesses residents / clients care requirements (and assigns staff as appropriate), makes rounds throughout the day to ensure continuity of care is provided to all residents / promptly identifies & responds to changes in residents' conditions, identifies opportunities to improve residents' services or increase satisfaction, and observes staff activity to provide support and direction. As part of the nursing leadership team, the Assistant Director of Nursing actively participates in survey inspections, attends all mandatory meetings, takes an active role in Quality Improvement / QAPI programs, provides education / training / support / guidance / feedback to staff, gives ongoing timely feedback (both verbal and written) to staff regarding performance, participates in the development and implementation of policies / procedures, and completes performance reviews for Unit Managers and Nurse Managers. The Assistant Director of Nursing also responds to emergencies, attends Resident Care Conferences, serves on various committees, attends educational workshops / reviews professional publications / establishes personal networks, monitors 24-hour reports on all units, monitors drug inventory / EMAR reconciliation, investigates reports of abuse / neglect, reviews complaints and grievances, provides support for final review of all incident reports, and keeps the Director of Nursing informed of any pertinent information or events. This position requires rotating on-call coverage 24-7, and covers for the Director of Nursing in their absence.
Required Education And Experience
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (RN); and Bachelor of Science degree in nursing preferred; and Three (3) to five (5) years Long Term Care (or equivalent) supervisory and / or managerial experience preferred; or An equivalent combination of work and experience will be considered. Must possess and maintain a current, valid, unencumbered New Hampshire RN license. CPR / Basic Life Support (BLS) certified.
